I’ve always considered salsa to be something that most people enjoy. It’s just such a great thing to have at parties or even while relaxing by yourself. I also think that fresh homemade salsa beats the pants off of any store-bought stuff. You get a much better flavor and more of the health benefits from the vegetables. It goes great with tortilla chips or in any recipe that calls for salsa. I’ve even been known to eat it by the spoonful, there are very few calories in it but it’s quite satisfying.
This recipe is pretty simple to make. Add all of the ingredients into your blender jar except for 3 of the Roma tomatoes. You’ll add those at the very end otherwise there wouldn’t be any tomato chunks in it. Unless of course, that doesn’t bother you, in which case, add everything and blend together until it’s the desired consistency. For a tip, you can make it the day before as the flavors will marinate together the longer it sits.
As far as additions go you can add a lot of different things to adjust for your tastes. Try a clove of garlic, a little bit of cumin, different types of peppers, or grind some fresh black pepper in. I like to make my salsa a bowl of liquid fire, so I tend to add some spicier peppers. It’s always fun when the family mistakes my salsa for theirs.
