Almond Butter Spread Recipe

I know a lot of people are looking to eat healthier, it’s a pretty common trend nowadays. This almond butter is a great all natural alternative to using peanut butter. Almonds themselves are high in calcium, iron, fiber, protein, and antioxidants. The best thing about this recipe is that you really don’t even need any other ingredients besides almonds. All you have to do is add the almonds into your blender and blend for about 2 minutes in your Vitamix/Blendtec machine. You will need to continuously use your tamper though. If you don’t have a high-end blender like a Vitamix, you’ll need to blend the mixture for 15-20 minutes in a regular food processor to get the same effect. This process allows the natural oils in the almonds to escape and help mix everything together. Don’t be worried with it being in powdered form for long, trust me that it WILL turn into smooth almond butter.

For a few examples, try adding a bit of honey or agave syrup to sweeten it up a little more. Another favorite in the family is adding Nutella to the mixture towards the end, that gives it a great chocolaty flavor. If you aren’t a fan of any of those you can still add a little bit of sea salt.

Eating healthier can be an easy thing to do even with minor changes. It’s up to you to experiment to find out what you like. Everyone has an opinion on flavors and what they think tastes good. Just try to get more antioxidants and vitamins into your body and look towards living a healthier life, the simple way.
