I’ve been trying to add more healthy food options into my diet. It’s a process I like to slowly trickle in so my body doesn’t go into a health shock. One of the most popular ways is to make your own green smoothie. This green smoothie recipe is very customizable to your preferred tastes. I think spinach is one of my favorite types of greens to use because it isn’t over powering. The addition of apples and pineapple together also really make this a palatable green smoothie for beginners.
On occasion I really like adding some fresh berries such as acai berries. They’re not only a flavor enhancer but also a health enhancer. Those are filled with all sorts of antioxidants and vitamins to help keep your body energized. You can also add a scoop of Greek yogurt to add some probiotics and make it a little thicker.
Another option is to use your favorite green tea instead of plain water. I think most people are aware that green tea is known to have many health benefits. I noticed that whenever I have this in the morning, I tend to have more energy during the late afternoon. It’s always good not to want a nap halfway through your day.
- ½ cup of water
- ½ cup of ice
- 1 cup of fresh spinach
- ½ cup of diced apples
- ½ cup of diced pineapple
- Optional: Acai berries
- Optional: Greek yogurt
- Add all of the ingredients into your jar and use the juice setting on your blender
